Description
Smooth, autumnal Farmhouse Sour Ale in a wine-sized bottle
Sweet notes of apple and peach make this extraordinary smooth drinking ale as refreshing as a brisk autumn morning.
Supplied in an impressive 750ml bottle, perfect to share, an ideal gift alternative to a bottle of wine. Or simply drink alone for hours of sour!
Tasting Notes
Clean on the palate and with minimal carbonation, the ale takes on characteristics not dissimilar to a fruity white wine or clean-pressed cider.
The undeniable sour notes which take form on the cheeks pump this beer full of character that becomes powerfully moreish at first sip.

I'm mainly a Bitter or IPA drinker, but bought the Hours of Sour as an adventure drink for me and also to give around as Xmas gifts. I've had no feedback from the gift recipients - which is not indicative of like or otherwise, since festive bottles get put on one side to reappear for a quiet, restive moment later; and the wine-bottle appearance might mean it finds itself with the Chardonnays and Merlots.
The taste surprised me. Sour is very different from Bitter, but Redchurch like to surprise, so I persisted. I like Cider and the comparison came to mind, rather dry - and a little understated? Sour beer is just that. I enjoyed the experience. Well done, Redchurch! I have been enjoying my quiet, restive moments.
It would go well with foods, but I leave that to others to explore!
Keep surprising us, Redchurch!
