If you're planning a party or event and want to serve beer on tap, you may be wondering how many pints a 30 litre keg can provide. The answer depends on a few factors, such as the size of your glasses and how much foam you allow, but we've got all the details you need to plan your beverage service.
Understanding the size of a 30 litre keykeg.
When it comes to serving beer from a 30 litre keg, it's important to consider the size of your glasses. If you're using standard pint glasses, you can expect to get around 52 servings from a single keg. However, if you're using smaller glasses or allowing for more foam, you may get slightly more servings. It's also worth noting that the type of beer you're serving can impact the number of servings you get from a keg. For example, a beer with a higher alcohol content may be served in smaller portions, which could increase the number of servings you get from a keg. Ultimately, it's always a good idea to order a little extra to ensure you have enough for all your guests, especially if you're hosting a large event or party
Is it worth having keykegs at home or work? The answer is yes! Using keykegs versus buying bottles and cans will save you money in the long run
What gas do I need?. They will work on any gas type including compressed air. They are a perfect partner for use with a Lindr
What do I do with the keg after use? The Kegs are non returnable but fully recyclable. Just deflate keg after use and put them in your normal plastic recycling
What beers are available? Redchurch has a great range of lager, pale ales, IPA ands stouts. Take a look at our range
What couplers are required for Keykegs? Keykegs use a bespoke coupler called a KeyKeg coupler. Redchurch has a supply of these in stock to order
Is now behind us and its time for a brand new and exciting Redchurch beer. Singapore Sling IPA, a mid-strength hazy IPA at 5% ABV, made with a blend of different hops for that pineapple flavour, and infused with real cherry purée.
One great thing about the pandemic was a chance to experiment. With extra time on our hands last year, we decided to step out of our comfort zone and try something totally new. Inspired by the popularity and range of flavours in cocktails, we wanted to see if we could infuse these flavours with beer. As an Essex brewery, what better place to start than a Redchurch Pornstar Martini. After a lot of research and experimentation, we struck the perfect recipe for our Pornstar Martini Pale Ale. With fantastic aroma of passion fruit and vanilla on the nose, and distinctively a beer in terms of flavour and taste. We were absolutely blown away by the popularity of the brew! So far we’ve brewed it 4 times, totalling to over 22,000 litres, and it’s been our fastest selling beer in the history of our brewery.
We’ve received from all kinds of people of all ages and genders has been amazing. Of course this is a somewhat outdated stereotype these days, but lots of men still only drink beer, and lots of women still don’t usually drink beer at all.
Of cocktail infused beers, and so it was time to experiment once again…
We thought about which other popular flavours and types of cocktails out there would work well with beer. We decided to go with something that will compliment the Pornstar Martini Pale Ale. So Redchurch Singapore Sling IPA was born! The cocktail its self was invented in Singapore over 100 years ago, and typically contains gin, Cointreau, Bénédictine, grenadine, pineapple juice, lime juice, and bitters. It has a very fruity flavour and is red in colour. So we wanted to replicate these flavours and appearance, whilst still making sure the finished product is undeniably a beer.
We used a combination of Eldorado, BRU-1, and Citra Cryo hops to give the beer a distinctly IPA flavour, while also giving those pineapple vibes. We added a small amount of orange blossom for that Cointreau zing. Then a generous amount of real cherry purée to give the brew a big Singapore Sling flavour, whilst also giving it a red tint on the eye. We’re delighted with the final result & we can’t wait for you to try it!
There are many myths surrounding the origins of the Singapore Sling. Many believe that it was a deliberate modification of the Gin Sling to make it more appropriate for ladies while others believe that it was a cocktail specifically concocted for the colonial upper class. Commonly referred to as the “Commander’s Drink”, this gave rise to the Hainanese dialect for it, “Si Ling”, which is where “Sling” was derived from.
Another myth claims that the cocktail was designed to look like a fruit punch as it was socially unacceptable for women to drink in public then. The Singapore Sling, however, with all its colourful and unassuming glory gave many the impression that it was fruit juice—allowing ladies to have a chance to have a sneaky tipple at any time of the day.
The Launch Event
Singapore Sling IPA iwas launched on Saturday 19th February 2022 at our Harlow Brewery and Taproom. First drink is on us. So come down, bring your friends, have a good time, and try something new!
Singapore Sling IPA and Pornstar Martini Pale Ale compliment each other well and will available to buy in mixed cocktail themed packs. We’re keeping an open mind about expanding our cocktail inspired range even further in future. So if you’ve got any ideas for something you’d really like to see, let us know!
Singapore Sling IPA is available form our brewery shop and our on line shop from February 17th

]]>Well what an awesome way to start 2021 with news from top online beer ratings website RateBeer that its members voted Redchurch winners of not one but TWO awards.
We were recognised as the winners of Best Brewery in Essex and Best Beer for Redchurch Old Ford Export Stout.
Started in 2002, RateBeer Best is the world's longest running competition of commercial beer. The awards are tabulated from millions of reviews submitted by its global community -- an immense survey of hundreds of thousands of beers by over 35,000 brewers. The awards are among the rarest and most prized in the industry.
"Frankly the last 12 months have been challenging for all of us, but this award is testament to the skill, care and attention of our brewers. It demonstrates once again that Redchurch beers are enjoyed by our customers and really getting noticed," said Tony Porter, Commercial Director at Redchurch. "Since March we've been out delivering across Essex direct to customers for them to enjoy in their homes. More recently we've been shipping beer orders up and down the country, showing that Redchurch is becoming recognised as a real challenger in the marketplace."
"RateBeer awards go out to fewer than 1% of all breweries, and 2020 with Covid restrictions was especially hard on brewers and the entire beverage industry. These are very hard-earned honors,” said Joseph Tucker, founder of RateBeer. "We're pleased to shine our spotlight on this excellent, creative, tenacious group of brewers."
Redchurch were delighted to be recently featured in the London Evening Standard supplement, ES Magazine.
Their feature on Top Virtual Tastings to Enjoy at Home included our hugely popular Redchurch virtual beer tasting experience...
We've been running these for the last few months, initially for corporate events but more recently for alternative online get-togethers and birthday parties.
The idea's really simple. You book the number of people and the date, and provide a delivery address for each. We send each person one of our 6 bottle mixed beers packs to arrive before the day. Then one of the Redchurch team connects with all the participants on Zoom for a 90 minute tasting experience and beer talk.
Tony Porter, Commercial Director at Redchurch says:
"These events have really taken-off during Lockdown 3 and become a genuine highlight of my day. I love nothing more than talking about our beers with such friendly and engaged groups of people from all walks of life. We all get to interact and I often get lots of interesting questions. It's really giving people some much-needed enjoyment and an element of virtual socialising while we're all stuck at home, no matter where they might be. I've even got one person joining their virtual beer tasting event from Spain next week."

You heard right - toasted bread, chestnut, honey and sweet biscuit flavours invade the senses to create a sweet, smooth talking lager that hugs you from the inside.
Our Head Brewer, Paul Hancock says:
“Typically brewed in the winter months to be served at the traditional Oktoberfest festival held in Munich each year, Märzen is a moderately strong lager style in the 5.8 – 6.3% range. At Redchurch, we are massive fans of elegant traditional lager styles which we brew with a blend of modern British craft brewing techniques, and traditional German knowhow. We use only the finest German ingredients as we believe this creates the best possible lager. Märzen is the perfect winter lager as it blends elements of rich malt, soft noble hops with lager drinkability, all with a smooth warming finish – the ideal companion for colder times! Our version is a little lighter than the traditional style, which we believe gives it broader appeal, yet still pairs well with all manner of grilled red meats, chicken, fish – even a Bratwurst or two!”
And if you're on a veggie or vegan diet, or taking part in Veganuary, fear not as all Redchurch beers are 100% vegan.
Judging from the glowing 5-star reviews it seems our customers have fallen for März-Ataks too:
You can buy Redchurch März-Ataks in 6, 12 and 24 bottle cases from our online store.
]]>Best UK Lager as voted for at The World Beer Awards 2019! If this is not an excuse for a beer on a Thursday then I don’t know what is!
It is no secret that we are super proud of our Redchurch Lager. Our brew team work long hours, 7 days a week to make sure that our beers are the best that they can possibly be and for that hard work and effort we are able to proudly say we have The Best Lager in the UK, a Gold winning Pale Ale and a Silver winning Export Stout.
But for us, our Lager is the benchmark when it comes to how a great beer should not only taste but be brewed. It takes a lot of time and love to produce a product worthy of such a title as “Best UK Lager” and we hope that you agree that this is no false accusation. It's exceptional beers with respect for the process and flavour.
Do not settle for anything less this Christmas.
]]>Brewers’ spent grain (BSG) is the major by-product of the beer industry, representing around 85% of the total by-products generated [1]. Beer is the fifth most consumed beverage in the world, resulting in an average annual global production of 39 million tonnes of BSG.
BSG is a byproduct of the brewing process. Beer begins with a mash of barley (and sometimes other grains) and hot water, which after an hour or so of enzymatic activity, converts the grain’s starch into sugar. It is then drained and rinsed to extract that sugar. That’s what we as a brewer want: sugar, which is the starting place for fermentation. Left behind are the starchy endosperm, residual protein and whatever residual sugars the process couldn’t rinse away.
These protein and fibre-rich leftovers are excellent feed for everything from cows to chickens. Redchurch works with local farmers who collect the grains and use them to feed their animals.
Redchurch is registered as a Hygenic Feed Supplier with Essex Trading Standards. This is designed to help ensure that feed provided to animals is safe and that those feed products can be traced in the event of a safety incident.
Tony Porter - Commercial Director at Redchurch, said "It's great that can recycle this waste product in such a useful way.
]]>Harlow coach Owen Coyne said: “I am pleased to announce Redchurch Brewery who are a World Award Winning Brewery and based in Harlow will be sponsoring Harlow Colts for season 2020/21. I would like to thank Tony and Trevor Porter of Redchurch for their support for local rugby."
"We're delighted to be able to provide training shirts for the boys for the forthcoming season commented Tony Porter, Commercial Director at Redchurch.
]]>It all stems from and pays homage to our East London roots of Bethnal Green, where Redchurch started in 2011. Our brewhouse and taproom once stood under the historic archways of this amazing part of London.
]]>Winner of FIVE World beer Awards and brewing fantastic beer in Harlow since 2015, so how come so few people in Harlow have heard of Redchurch. “I didn’t know you were here”, “I didn’t even know we had a brewery in Harlow” are the most common things we hear, says Tony Porter – Commercial Director.
Redchurch was founded in 2011 initially as a home brewing passion on Redchurch Street in Bethnal Green and then moved to a site under the arches creating a brewery and tap room.
Having outgrown the East London space finding an affordable manufacturing site proved hard and the business relocated to Mead Park on River Way in 2015.
Today the business is independent and owned by brothers Trevor and Tony Porter who are both actively involved in the day to day running of the brewery.
The identity of our beers pays homage to the brewery’s East London origins, with brands such as Shoreditch Blonde, Great Eastern IPA, Hoxton Stout and award winning Redchurch Lager. More recently we launched Stort Valley in respect of our newly found local customer base.
We have a core range of 6 beers and a frequently changing range of specials. All of which can be found on the shop website. There are two new beers in tank at the moment for the cooler months ahead “Bitter Luck!” a classic English bitter “Out of the Dark” a 10% Imperial Stout.
The most popular selling items are the mixed cases where customers can select from a range of different beers. It really gives drinkers options for every occasion or for whatever the weather.
This year we had two success at the 2020 "WORLD BEER AWARDS" taking Redchurch's haul of World Beer Awards to five! Last year Redchurch Lager was voted as an overall winner which was incredible achievement
Bethnal Pale Ale shone in the 'American Style Pale Ale Award' resulting in an excellent GOLD Medal for the second year running.
Old Ford Export Stout also made it two in a row with SILVER Medal in the 'Stout & Porter Award for imperial stout' category.
The World Beer Awards receives 1000's of entries from over 36 countries making this an incredible achievement
We recently started offering free home deliveries to Harlow every Tuesday and Friday as well as a click and collect service. This was met with unprecedented popularity and amazingly positive feedback. It even led to winning a CAMRA Craft Beer Heroes award.
Our shop website allows you to buy beer for delivery or to click and collect from Harlow. We also work with APC couriers and can delivery anywhere in the UK. We’re increasingly seeing fans sending cases to friends and family as gifts or thank you’s from businesses to their staff
One of the things people are finding really interesting is to come see the behind the scenes on a brewery tour. We’re doing COVID safe small tours every Tuesday & Thursday at 6PM and Saturday at 10.30 AM
]]>Farmhouse Style
Grisettes are a subset of a slightly better known farmhouse-style ale we have championed at Redchurch, the Saison. It has a fascinating history. Saisons were originally brewed to quench the thirst of seasonal farm labourers. In translation “Saison” means season— highlighting the fact that the beer was brewed in the winter, to be enjoyed in summer. Generally, Saisons have a wide variation in brewing techniques and flavours. However, a significant aspect of Saisons is the dry, refreshing nature, which happens to be the defining characteristic of a traditional grisette.
History
Where Saisons were brewed mainly for farmworkers, grisettes were brewed for workers in the local mines. There are many stories about where the grisette name actually came from. It’s thought that the name grisette—translated to mean “little grey”—references the grey dresses of women passing out beers to miners. Others site the style’s name refers to the colour of the stone being mined. There is no definitive answer, but we hope you enjoy the one we have brewed as our latest special.
Herbal Lemody is our take on a Grisette.
When life gives us lemons, we all need a bit of Herbal Lemody! A Belgian Grisette infused with Lemon Verbena and Kaffir Lime leaves.
Hazy, dry and packed full of clean bursts of honeydew melon and soft lemon and lime, with a hint of herbal clove and black pepper spice.
Refreshing and warming in combination, perfect for cool nights in or hot days out.

Tasting Notes
Began as a creative project based out of the railway arches in Bethnal Green and quickly developed into a leader in the mixed-fermentation market. Pioneered by James Rylance (now of Harbour Brewing), the goal was to create a series of experimental brews which pushed the boundaries of flavour and really brought the beer back to nature. Using mainly homegrown and foraged fruit, herbs and spices with our house lactobacillus cultures in the midst of a concrete jungle are what truly makes it Urban Farmhouse. Trevor Porter, Managing Director at Redchurch, comments, "We are excited about this new release and selected the flavour profile based on consumer feedback. Many of our customers have expressed an eagerness to try it. The continued success of this brand is a testament to our brewing pedigree”.
The origin is tied to Goslar, a town in Eastern Germany. Whether the beer was named for the town or the Gose River flowing through the town is unclear, but the town was named for the river, so it’s likely the beer’s name relates to the river also.
Introducing our latest brews our Experimental Hop IPA named after its nameless super star ingredient “X06277”. This modern West Coast IPA was brewed using 9 different juicy American hops including the star of the show X06277. Huge fruity hop aroma, strong tropical flavours and balanced bitterness make for a taste sensation that’s out of this world!
Also introducing Our summer stunner. A fruity twist on a classic German Berliner Weisse. Aromas of wild raspberry giving way to hints of subtle lemon and yogurt-like flavours supported by tart, fresh raspberries and underlying dry lactic sourness.
Two fantastic beers for you all to give a try! We love to hear you feed back & pictures of you guys sporting a Redchurch so don’t forget to find us on Instagram.
]]>Founded in East London in 2011, but now based in Harlow, Essex, Redchurch is responsible for a range of craft beers. Old Ford Export stout, whose name pays tribute to the Brewery’s East End Origins, is a seasonal winter special, a rich and toasty strong stout that is an ideal companion when the January weather does its worst outside.
"When poured it’s as dark as a moonless night, with a potent way of roast coffee and dark chocolate. The taste is more roastiness coffee and chocolate, vanilla smoothness, hints of fruit cake and cherry and a big creamy mouthfeel before its lingering finish. Given its strength and full flavour, this is a beer to sip and treat as if it were the finest of ports. Pure magic in a glass”
Sounds rude but try it and you’ll know exactly what we mean!
Thank you for your kind words Adrian!!

]]>What do you get when you put some of the biggest names in the Winter sports industry from clothing, athletes, food, booze, tourism and entertainers in one of Londons most iconic event locations? One fantastic jam-packed weekend. Although the great British weather did not keep its end of the bargain we still managed to have a great time with some awesome, talented people.
Redchurch was in full flow across both main bars at the event and not forgetting the Redchurch Chalet where we set out to offer the people of Battersea a variety on what they could enjoy during their time spent at the event. Too long have we been forced into drinking that one lager over and over again (let's face it's not enjoyable), that famous “guess I'll be having one of them, then”, Redchurch offered it’s the entire range to The Telegraph Ski & Snowboard festival both in draft and bottle as well as sponsoring the exhibitor's party Thursday night with our flagship Pilsner. We also had head Brewer Lorenzo heading up craft beer workshops to those in attendance.
Its 11 am and we are watching the likes of Billy Morgan team GB snowboard Olympian performing backflips, 360’s and everything in between whilst we sit back and sip on an award-winning Lager we can only dream of being able to do the same (or we could just stay at the bar?). The vibe is electric and positivity seems to be at the forefront of the event with attendance from huge organisations to smaller independent businesses, big names athletes to 9-year-old freestyle skiers it is clear that every one their holds a shared interest in everything winter sports. The great thing about a Ski holiday is that its fully acceptable to have a beer before midday (It is isn’t it?) and boy did people get involved. It was awesome to hear everyone’s feedback and to hear how excited people were to have variety in their choice of beverage and to offer that was amazing.
“It is great to have a selection, you know we go to a lot of these events and when you see the same brand of beer offering up one type of Lager, that isn’t particularly great anyway…..it is a real shame. Today I have had a lager, stout and about to crack on with one of your Bethnal Pale ales. Its been a much more enjoyable experience” – Rodger, Ski enthusiast
“I was at the ski festival in Battersea when I came across Redchurch and a nice cold one, and, from the bottom of my heart, it was FANTASTIC.” – Rich Johnson
“Thanks for such an amazing workshop and beer. Learned a lot and would love to experience more of your brilliant product
on” – Matthew Bramall
We also spent some time Thursday night chatting with the fantastic guys from Eurosport including James Hayden former Brtish motorcycle racer. He raced in 250cc and 500cc Grand Prix, MotoGP, British Superbike and the World Superbike Championship (see video below). As an independent brewery with humble beginnings, it is amazing to be able to support an event of this size and to be recognised as a premium product within a premium industry. We will be continuing our work with The Telegraph Ski & Snowboard Festival and hope to see you all next year.
]]>It’s not every day you get the opportunity to brew with some of the best in the game and last week we had the pleasure of welcoming a few of the guys from Lambrate all the way from Milan to come out and hang with us at Redchurch.
Whilst we were gathered…we thought we may as well brew some beer….some really….. really good beer.
So the summer is quickly passing us by and the winter is showing its gloomy face as the mornings get darker (and colder). However still clinging to the memories of days spent outside, cooking everything in sight on the old rusty BBQ we decided a Smokey Vienna would be rather fitting.
Named “Smokey Monarch” not only does this beer pay homage to everything smoked but it also lays tribute to the man who played a big part in the European craft beer movement almost 24 years ago,
Giampaolo who was also the founder of Lambrate. Those who know Giampaolo say that he is rarely seen without a cigarette as he ponders all things beer, represented by the use of smoked malt within the ‘Smokey Monarch’.
It was an honour to have the guys with us for a few days and to see the masters at work. The collaboration will be soon avaliable and we cant wait for you all to try it!
]]>We went to the Strongroom Beer Fest to showcase a couple our most recent brews among a multitude of other amazing breweries. The weather was superb, the beer was great and we all had a merry old time.

Meatopia is known for its reputation of attracting some of the biggest names in BBQ and meat style cooking across the world so it would only be fitting to accompany this with some of the best in beer.
Meatopia was a great success for us, we chose to offer up our latest specials alongside our award-winning lager! Selling out of beer on the first day we had to make an emergency delivery!!
From Friday night straight through to Sunday evening the venue was filled with entertainment in the form of brass bands, Mexican Mariachi, flames the height of ceilings and DJs dropping banger after banger, there really was not a dull moment to be had.
With so much food and beverages on offer, it was somewhat of an overload on the senses (in a really good way!!) From slow-roasted pork to satay drenched chicken, half a roasted cow, chocolate covered apricots, bacon smoked donuts…the list went on and on. If you have not been to Meatopia as of yet, make next year the year!!
